MAKEUP ACADEMY VELVET LIP LACQUER REVIEW

Hello Candylovers! :D
I've been busy doing some makeup services and vlogs these past few weeks and I just want to update my blog about this brand that is one of my favorite go to lip lacquer called MUA LUXE London Velvet Lip Lacquer. This was given to me by my good friend Ms. Glyza Reyes of the Glorified Makeup to do an honest product review and swatches for you. :)

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Smooch your way to red carpet glamour with MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquers. Long-lasting and kiss proof, these intense formulas come in five rich, vampy shades. Encased in chic frosted glass packaging, these lacquers glide on with ease of a gloss, drying in seconds into a matte velvety texture. They are the ultimate makeup bag must have.

Get the ultimate velvet-matte pout with this richly pigmented, silky smooth lip lacquer. The quick-dry formula glides on effortlessly to leave a gorgeous matte finish, that is smudge-proof and long lasting.

5 shades to choose from:
1. Reckless - Deep Red
2. Funk - Fuschia Pink
3. Atomic - Red Orangy
4. Criminal - Vibrant Pink
5. Kooky - Deep Plum

PACKAGING: (BOX)
- I like the design packaging of this product. It looks classy and sophisticated.
-It's very unique in shape (not the usual box/rectangular type)
- The texture of the box is matte and the gold accent is glossy.
- The design layout is simple and clean; very eye catchy (it's impossible for you not to notice it)
- You can actually tear off the label if you just want to bring the actual box with you.
PACKAGING: (PRODUCT)
- It comes in a clear cylindrical tube with black cover cap.
- The MUA LUXE London is printed on the black cap.
- You can see the name of the shade at the the bottom part.
- The size of it is 4.25" in height and 0.5" in diameter. (see the attached photo)

PRODUCT APPEARANCE:
- The consistency of the product is very rich and thick.
- Matte finish
- Very pigmented and vibrant
- What you see in the tube is the actual color you will get when you put it on your lips.

PRODUCT COMPARISON:
Limecrime Velvetines in Pink Velvet- As you can see, it's very liquidy and it tends to bleed on your skin/lips. It's advisable to use a lip pencil before applying the limecrime velvetines. Also, it takes a while to dry so be careful to re apply another coat on your lips.

SCENT:
It has a tiny bit of scent. (I can't describe it) :p

INGREDIENTS:
Polyethylene, Polybutene, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ozokerite, Isododecane, Dimethicone, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilia) Wax, Silica, Cyclomethicone, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Titanium Dioxide, Red 6, Red 7 Lake, Red 27 Lake, Iron Oxides

NET WEIGHT:
12 grams

Here's what it looks on my lips :) MUA LUXE London Velvet Lip Lacquer in Funk.

EXPERIENCE:
MUA is a UK brand of cosmetics and now becoming a new hit here in the Philippines. I've been using some of their products like the MUA Matte Perfect Primer, MUA Mate Lipstick and I can say that they have a nice range of good quality makeup products.

My initial reaction when I first saw this was... a perfect dupe for Limecrime Velvetines! Yes! I'm that confident to compare them together. hihi! But when I actually tried the MUA Luxe, they're not that twins anymore.... more like of a sister maybe.

Just like any other lip lacquers/paints, it can be drying on your lips so be sure to apply your favorite lipbalm before anything else. After that, just glide the wand on your lips and apply it evenly. Wait for it to completely dry and apply another coat for more vibrant look.

The formulation of MUA Luxe is way better than the Limecrime Velvetines. I like that is has a rich and thick consistency, doesn't bleed on your lips and it's transfer proof!

One downside that kinda bothers me is that, whenever I eat my meal, the product tends to crumble especially in the center part of my lips..

But other than that, I love everything about it! <3 Definitely worth buying!

BEFORE AND AFTER:
After 4 hours of wearing my MUA Luxe London in Funk, you can definitely see that the center part of my lips has already been visible, leaving the residue on the sides of my mouth. (I've been eating and drinking with that span of time).

PROS:
- Very Rich and Thick
- Highly Pigmented
- Super Matte
- Vibrant Colors to choose from
- Affordable
- Long Lasting
- Doesn't bleed on your lips
- Worth buying
- Dupe for Limecrime Velvetines but way better.

CONS:
- Can be drying on your lips
- Not available locally
- Has a tiny bit of scent
- Tends to crumble small particles on your lips

My RCMA No Color Loose Powder Review

Hello Candylovers! Happy 2014!

Have you heard of the brand RCMA? Or do you have any idea what is RCMA stands for?

Today I want to share with you my thoughts about this amazing product where I believe you will love when you get the chance to own one for yourself. This was sent to me by Ms. Glyza Reyes of Glorified Make Up https://www.facebook.com/GlorifiedMakeUp to do a product review about it. :)

RCMA NO COLOR POWDER

Actual product on my finger
PRODUCT APPEARANCE:
- Translucent. Colorless.
- Silky finish
- The texture is so fine and smooth.
- Comparable to HD powders out in the market.

SCENT:
- None.

INGREDIENTS:
Silica, Calscium Oxide, Talc & Magnesium Oxide

NET WEIGHT:
3 oz

EXPERIENCE:
RCMA stands for the Research Council of Makeup Artist, created by the late renowned makeup artist Mr. Vincent Jr Kehnoe in 1962 and distributed in NYC. If you haven't know, a lot of makeup artists use RCMA in the field of film, television, theater and up to this day, remains one of the top brands in the industry. Despite the not so fancy packaging, but the quality that it offers is simply amazing. And the value of the product is superb!

I've tried some good setting powder in the past and I'm quite satisfied with the result until I came across with RCMA No Color Powder. I did not expect that it will be one of my top favorites to use for myself and for my clients. This powder sets my foundation base perfectly without altering the color of it because it doesn't have pigment. It helps control the oil on my face leaving it shine free and matte. Also, it will not cake up and did not sit in fine lines/wrinkles.

If I'm going to set my foundation, I'll pour some product on my plastic bowl and loading my velour puff with it. Evenly distribute the powder by patting it on my face. Remove excess powder with a powder brush.

Overall, I highly recommend this product and you will not regret buying it. Super worth it! <3

Here's my photo wearing makeup for almost 3 hours with no retouch.
Impressive right? :)

- It can be a little messy to use

Hello Candylovers! :D

There's no amount of makeup that can make your skin look healthy. You can't conceal all those bumps/acne with just the use of makeup. You have to know what's your skin type is and what type of facial cleanser that suits your skin. This is the first step of knowing on how to take care of your skin. :)

or you can take this test and find out what your skin is telling you. :)
And my score is 4 (skin is feeling okay).

After taking the test, I tried using the Mary Kay Botanical Effects 3-in-1 Cleanser for Oily Skin. :)

Mary Kay has 2 nourishing botanicals that benefit all skin types. The Silymarin (Milk Thistle) and Luo Han Guo (also called the longevity fruit) are powerful antioxidant sources that help defent against environmental damage while helping to promote healthy, balanced skin.

There are 3 available formulas for different skin types.

EXPERIENCE:
I've been using Mary Kay products when I was in my College years, especially their full coverage liquid foundation. I know for a fact that Mary Kay has an amazing range of good quality products and there's no doubt about it. But little do I know that they also have skin care products. So getting the chance to try their Botanical Effects 3-in-1 Cleanser is an opportunity.

Having an oily-acne prone skin is a challenge for me. There is nothing I can do about it but to accept the fact that I really have to deal with my oiliness and acne every now and then. It's in my genes, my poor lifestyle. There's no one to blame but myself.

But there's always some remedies for you to achieve that soft, flawless skin. And I think one of them is the Mary Kay Botanical Effects 3-in-1 Cleanser. This facial cleanser helps control the oiliness of my skin without leaving it dry. It has a micro beads that can exfoliate your dead skin cells and can lighten your darkspots/blemishes. Also, it's very mild on my skin.

I don't experience any allergies or rashes when I'm using this facial cleanser. It feels very clean and fresh.
You can definitely use this for 3 months or so. You just need a little amount of product to entirely clean your face and neck.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with the result and will continue to use it. :)

PROS:
Non-comedogenic.
Suitable for sensitive skin.
Free from alcohol, frangrance and synthetic dyes.
Clinically tested for skin irritancy and allergy.
Affordable.
Effective.
Can also exfoliate your skin.
Eco-friendly.

CONS:
Not available in some retail stores.
You have to order to your personal beauty consultant.
You have to continue to use it in order to see the result.
